New York Spring 2014 Fashion Week Street Style Part 5

One accessory that has been on the street as of late is the bike helmet—the statement staple of the season, introduced as a compliment to the convenient Citi Bikes. An obvious perk (aside from exercise and keeping green) is the front basket. Perfect for tossing in a clutch between shows. Of course, not all fashion is always bike-friendly, but it seems like many showgoers and models off-duty are divvying up their looks according to planned transport. Jeans for cycling days, slit Céline skirts and billowy dresses for the rest. For those of us in school, think about riding your bike to school for a few days. You will soon find that with the quick, independent transportation, you will be pretty happy with it.

Femininity is a big thing this season, as well as punk. I must say that punk isn't only the studs, leather, and multiple body piercings that is usually associated with the word. Punk is really just doing your own this, adding your own twist to things, and not being afraid of what people around you may think. In this case, I think that just about every look in fashion weeks has a bit of punk in it. Just look at this look. Notice the dress pattern, and silver platform shoes, the sheerness of the skirt ... everything that makes this look unique and amazing.

Scottish style plaid and leather straps. Not what you would expect in a skirt, especially the straps, but interesting nonetheless.

More plaid - this time more playful, fun and inspiring. I love these backgrounds...

On Indre: 3.1 Phillip Lim skirt

For those of you who haven't heard this, Phillip Lim is launching a collaboration with Target. In the past, I have seen several collections at Target with Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, and Kate Young. I have bought a few pieces from a few collections, and I really look forward to seeing some more from Phillip Lim, who I recognize as a talented designer.

3.1 Phillip Lim bag

I have thought of using a bright handbag to add color to your look, but never a fur one. New idea, new love.
