Happy Halloween guys!

October 30 2013, Wednesday

It's amazing how quickly time flies. One day I'm wondering what to wear for Halloween six months away and the next I'm panicky about the fact that it's the eve of all Hallow's Eve and I'm still clueless about what I'm wearing - not to mention that I have no idea who I'm being. On another note, I'm really looking forward to the next episodes of Rein and The Carrie Diaries. I'm obsessed with both.

So today was pretty typical - got hold of the best leather jacket ever by the way. Question is, can I keep it?

Things You Need To Know About "It" Alexa Chung's New Book, Out Today

"Alexa Chung’s signature look—an A-line dress paired with a flat shoe (usually in black or white) and topped off with a cat-eye-lined eye—makes a lot more sense when you find out that the fashion icon was once obsessed with Wednesday Addams and French New Wave muse Anna Karina. Although her trend-agnostic sense of style seems innate and effortless, the 29-year-old (like most of us), was once a young girl with more than a few sartorial missteps under her belt such as emulating the Spice Girls’s “sixties fashion in the nineties” wardrobe. In her new book It (Penguin), out today, the model/designer/TV host, shares her evolution through fashion, reflecting on everything from relationships to music. Part memoir, part how-to book, the tome is filled with personal photos and drawings, advice on what to pack for a music festival, and even the occasional piece of laugh-out-loud wisdom such as: “Boys say they don’t mind how you get your hair done. But then they leave you for someone with really great standard girl hair and the next thing you know you’re alone with a masculine crop crying into your granola.” We’re sure more than a few girls will have the pink cloth-bound book on their coffee tables or gift lists come the holiday season."

Currently am working on multiple projects at one time. School is demanding, but nevertheless it's interesting. However, even the most interesting things can drain you.

Inspiration

Looking at a beautiful image never fails to inspire me. As almost everything I look at feeds into my blog, including what inspires me, I decided to put a collection of photos together to give a sense of what is going on in my head this Friday night. P.S. Don't stop until you've scrolled all the way down. The type of photos range between clothing to vintage to travel to art. Don't count the chickens before you see them.

3 Days 3 Tops One Girl

I've been loving Vogue's Five Days, Five Looks, One Girl series, and since I don't really have much time to talk about it, I will leave you guys a link here to see the series on vogue.com. Anyway, inspired by this series, I put together a short but sweet post with the three top looks I've been wearing for these past few days. I understand that it might be just a mite boring to show just my tops, so keep in mind that I am also showing how I am accessorizing my tops. So my point is... keep reading!

Paris Spring 2014 Fashion Week Street Style Part 7

Today Vogue released some new PFW photos, and since they are all so awesome I decided to do another street style post. This will be my last one for this month, and I think it's pretty fitting  since it's "part 7" and there were, obviously, seven days in PFW. Another thing, something in my computer or server system is glitched, so if you click on the photos, they won't come up in a slideshow. I will try to get this fixed as soon as possible, but for now you can just enjoy them this way. Patterns reigned supreme for the entire month of fashion, and the last day was no exception. Lace at Valentino, what looked like an alphabet bodysuit on Edie Campbell... well it's no wonder that photographers like Phil Oh track endless street style every fashion week.

Paris Spring 2014 Fashion Week Street Style Part 6

For the last day of Paris Fashion Week, down went the degrees and out came the jackets and jumpers on the attendees—who are no doubt looking forward to the end of the season. A few colorful ones stood out, like Hanneli Mustaparta’s geometric blue pullover and Caroline Brasch Nielsen’s sporty sweater. And with the nineties being touted as one of the strongest trends for fall, showgoers gave the post-punk decade a sophisticated twist. Subversive plaid, spotted on a tailored Stella McCartney coat or mid-length CĂ©line dress, prove that it’s possible to make grunge look grown-up. Some pieces were seen on more than one person, like yesterday, but others were unique in their own way - pineapple and arm prints were noticed as a fresh new take on the print trend, and leather also made another, more muted, statement. Overall, at the end of Fashion Month, this has been a pretty wonderful Street Style display. So click through to see the highlights of today - the last day of Spring 2014 Fashion Month.

Runway Beauty: Valentino's "Operatic" Spring Runway Muse For Spring 2014

Valentino has always been a key designing house when it comes to the ones I admire the most. I love not only the trademark rocker feminine vibe, but I also highly admire the natural style of their runway beauty looks. For this season, Par Mcgrath created the illusion of a softly contoured face. No heavy makeup, just a bare minimum. Scroll below to read the ABCs of the creation of this look.

Paris Spring 2014 Fashion Week Street Style Part 5

Every season, there are the pieces it seems everyone’s sporting. But just because something's popular doesn’t mean it can't be unique. Let’s take a look at some women on the streets of Paris making the big trends their own. First, CĂ©line’s red-white-and-blue plaid print. One showgoer proudly embraces it, donning not only the skirt but also a handbag emblazoned with the check. No one can say she doesn’t realize it's a craze. We’re also seeing quirky Kenzo shirts high and low, plus platform sneakers and dresses and skirts with a nineties-style tie around the waist (like Marine Deleeuw’s effortless Dries Van Noten). In the end, even if there’s someone right next to you wearing the same thing (there are three instances of just that phenomenon in this slideshow alone!), the confidence of individual style distinguishes the look.
