Noble Days
This necklace was a Christmas present. I know that the bar necklace style is a mite out of fashion, more like Spring/Summer, but I love this piece so much I've been wearing it ever since I got it. As you might have figured out already, I'm loving my cardigans. I love a nice long style, that can be worn effortlessly over the shoulders and down to the wrists. These photos were actually taken on a trip to the mall. We spent most of our time browsing in Barnes and Nobles, like we always do, and then had a long lunch after I was able to snatch a table from the mob scene that made up the food court. The sweater-white jean-and boots combination has dominated many posts on my blog of late, I actually wear this in everyday life - it is my new uniform. The French think that the idea of a "uniform" in a woman is a sign of definite style. I think that if my side of the hemisphere accepted the uniform look, it would be a lot easier to rewear the pieces I love!
#messyhair is my new look :)

Singing With The Lights
This is what I wore for a Holiday concert at the Meyerson. A great dress, great shoes, great necklace, I guess you could call this outfit a collection of a few of my favorite pieces. Anyway, the bag is an old one from Vogue, probably from the late '90s or early 2000s. My mother let me borrow it, as well as the cardigan in the photos below. Speaking of my mother, below is a duo selfie. And the performance? Awesome. Except for one thing - I was recovering from a cough, and coughed through the entire duration of Bring a Torch Jeannette Isabella and two other songs (literally, like I was having a coughing seizure or something, without stopping for a second) until a lady was kind enough to give me a cough drop. Funny now, embarrassing and night-marish then.

Pre-Fall 2014 Collections, My Favorites
Here are some of my favorite Pre-Fall 2014 collection photographs. I feel that if one photo from a collection is able to capture the entire mood of the rest of the collection, then I'm dealing with a talented designer.

Glitter Over The Top
Glitter is taking over. Glitter is showing its never dulling self on faces, jewelry, craft boxes, and now on clothing. For me, whenever I think of glitter I think of silver glitter, and whenever I think of glitter, I think of Andy Warhol and his factory. The intentionally over-the-top, aluminium-like silver, instantly makes me think; "Okay, it's not necessarily the minimal glitter I'm used to, but it's better." These photographs make me feel like the future is coming decades early. You remember the cold metallic look of the futuristic films? Clean silver and white, and sheen to materials. Movies like The Host, The Hunger Games, Guardians of the Galaxy, and others all display that future look. Which makes me think of silver glitter. Of course, not all of these images consist of just silver glitter, but they all convey a sense of party, the future, and I love them.

For some reason I am just obsessed with the old Russian kid's cartoons. Is that a problem? No, when you love them and you are looking to improve your blood language, it's not creepy, it's actually good. Not good sensational.

November 15, 2013 Friday
Happy Friday people!!! I am so glad that this five-day awaited weekend has finally come, and I thought I might tell you guys what I've been doing today in another diary post. I am currently working on another project for school, but happily this time it's one I am really enjoying. For my careers class we're supposed to dissect (not literally) the different people who made it big that were included in a class list and make a presentation. I chose Coco Chanel, partly because I know so much about her and partly because I just love her so much. Anyway, I will be posting the final Powerpoint on this site as a sort of window into the deep waters of Madam Chanel. Also, I'm working on a brand new video for the Tip A Week after next. If you want to view my current tips on my youtube channel feel free to click here.

Watching re-runs of Gossip Girl. Then found out that I had left my writing journal in my locker at school, with a report due 1st period Monday morning. Guess it's another early Monday for me...
image #3 Guy Bourdin: Several, Actually
Today I decided to pay some homage to one of the greatest photographic artists of the last century - Guy Bourdin. Being the inspiration for Francois Nars' holiday collection, I was instantly intrigued by his scandalous, artistic images. So I decided to share them. Oh, and by the way, none of these images are mine - obviously.
image #2: russian doll on vogue japan
As my next installment of image obsession, I found some images from Vogue Japan, or Anna Dello Russo's blog to be specific, that show the perfect blend between Russian culture and Japanese flair. Of course, the beautiful model Lindsey Wixson was perfect for posing as the beautiful Russian girl.

image #1
I love the art of photography. I think that a good photo is as good as any masterpiece, and a great photograph should be showcased. That's why I have decided to showcase the photos that make a mark in my mind on this here blog. After all, I've recently decided to show my blog as more of an art form, a artistic fashion magazine, trend book, and vintage cataloug. What do you think? (By the way, the V stands for vogue.com. They always employ the best photographers.)

It's amazing how quickly time flies. One day I'm wondering what to wear for Halloween six months away and the next I'm panicky about the fact that it's the eve of all Hallow's Eve and I'm still clueless about what I'm wearing - not to mention that I have no idea who I'm being. On another note, I'm really looking forward to the next episodes of Rein and The Carrie Diaries. I'm obsessed with both.

Things You Need To Know About "It" Alexa Chung's New Book, Out Today
"Alexa Chung’s signature look—an A-line dress paired with a flat shoe (usually in black or white) and topped off with a cat-eye-lined eye—makes a lot more sense when you find out that the fashion icon was once obsessed with Wednesday Addams and French New Wave muse Anna Karina. Although her trend-agnostic sense of style seems innate and effortless, the 29-year-old (like most of us), was once a young girl with more than a few sartorial missteps under her belt such as emulating the Spice Girls’s “sixties fashion in the nineties” wardrobe. In her new book It (Penguin), out today, the model/designer/TV host, shares her evolution through fashion, reflecting on everything from relationships to music. Part memoir, part how-to book, the tome is filled with personal photos and drawings, advice on what to pack for a music festival, and even the occasional piece of laugh-out-loud wisdom such as: “Boys say they don’t mind how you get your hair done. But then they leave you for someone with really great standard girl hair and the next thing you know you’re alone with a masculine crop crying into your granola.” We’re sure more than a few girls will have the pink cloth-bound book on their coffee tables or gift lists come the holiday season."

Inspiration
Looking at a beautiful image never fails to inspire me. As almost everything I look at feeds into my blog, including what inspires me, I decided to put a collection of photos together to give a sense of what is going on in my head this Friday night. P.S. Don't stop until you've scrolled all the way down. The type of photos range between clothing to vintage to travel to art. Don't count the chickens before you see them.

3 Days 3 Tops One Girl
I've been loving Vogue's Five Days, Five Looks, One Girl series, and since I don't really have much time to talk about it, I will leave you guys a link here to see the series on vogue.com. Anyway, inspired by this series, I put together a short but sweet post with the three top looks I've been wearing for these past few days. I understand that it might be just a mite boring to show just my tops, so keep in mind that I am also showing how I am accessorizing my tops. So my point is... keep reading!

Paris Spring 2014 Fashion Week Street Style Part 7
Today Vogue released some new PFW photos, and since they are all so awesome I decided to do another street style post. This will be my last one for this month, and I think it's pretty fitting since it's "part 7" and there were, obviously, seven days in PFW. Another thing, something in my computer or server system is glitched, so if you click on the photos, they won't come up in a slideshow. I will try to get this fixed as soon as possible, but for now you can just enjoy them this way. Patterns reigned supreme for the entire month of fashion, and the last day was no exception. Lace at Valentino, what looked like an alphabet bodysuit on Edie Campbell... well it's no wonder that photographers like Phil Oh track endless street style every fashion week.

Paris Spring 2014 Fashion Week Street Style Part 6
For the last day of Paris Fashion Week, down went the degrees and out came the jackets and jumpers on the attendees—who are no doubt looking forward to the end of the season. A few colorful ones stood out, like Hanneli Mustaparta’s geometric blue pullover and Caroline Brasch Nielsen’s sporty sweater. And with the nineties being touted as one of the strongest trends for fall, showgoers gave the post-punk decade a sophisticated twist. Subversive plaid, spotted on a tailored Stella McCartney coat or mid-length Céline dress, prove that it’s possible to make grunge look grown-up. Some pieces were seen on more than one person, like yesterday, but others were unique in their own way - pineapple and arm prints were noticed as a fresh new take on the print trend, and leather also made another, more muted, statement. Overall, at the end of Fashion Month, this has been a pretty wonderful Street Style display. So click through to see the highlights of today - the last day of Spring 2014 Fashion Month.

Runway Beauty: Valentino's "Operatic" Spring Runway Muse For Spring 2014
Valentino has always been a key designing house when it comes to the ones I admire the most. I love not only the trademark rocker feminine vibe, but I also highly admire the natural style of their runway beauty looks. For this season, Par Mcgrath created the illusion of a softly contoured face. No heavy makeup, just a bare minimum. Scroll below to read the ABCs of the creation of this look.
Paris Spring 2014 Fashion Week Street Style Part 5
Every season, there are the pieces it seems everyone’s sporting. But just because something's popular doesn’t mean it can't be unique. Let’s take a look at some women on the streets of Paris making the big trends their own. First, Céline’s red-white-and-blue plaid print. One showgoer proudly embraces it, donning not only the skirt but also a handbag emblazoned with the check. No one can say she doesn’t realize it's a craze. We’re also seeing quirky Kenzo shirts high and low, plus platform sneakers and dresses and skirts with a nineties-style tie around the waist (like Marine Deleeuw’s effortless Dries Van Noten). In the end, even if there’s someone right next to you wearing the same thing (there are three instances of just that phenomenon in this slideshow alone!), the confidence of individual style distinguishes the look.

Paris Spring 2014 Fashion Week Street Style Part 4
It’s been a bit rainy in Paris, but that never puts a damper on street style. In fact, the slight dip in temperature has brought out some of the season’s most impressive suiting. Let’s start with Caroline de Maigret in a moss-colored version, smiling—probably because there are few things as fun and comfortable as a cool suit with boots. Vika Gazinskaya puts her own twist on the look: in a blush pink oversize blazer with pale lapels. Moving on, we see a cropped pant worn with classic black Converse and Anya Ziourova in a pair of perfectly tailored Ostwald Helgason tuxedo shorts. If you have Savile Row on the brain for fall, Paris has all your inspiration—so suit up!

Runway Beauty: "Glowy" Skin and Beachy Waves at Isabel Marant Spring 2014
Isabel Marant’s woman is a study in the kind of uncomplicated French chic that has long been the envy of many an American, a quality that extends as much to the designer’s beauty codes as her approach to clothes. No matter who is doing the hair and makeup each season, the adjectives natural and easy tend to fly around backstage at her shows.
“[Isabel] had a specific girl in her head, the kind of girl who has come back from vacation and has highlights,” hairstylist Didier Malige explained of the slightly texturized strands he was creating backstage, which were organically parted and thickened with extensions where needed. “It’s almost beachy, without the salt.” He was skipping the usual ubiquitous bottles of ocean spritzes in favor of OSiS+ Hairbody volumizer and Shu Uemura’s Satin Design Polishing Milk for a soft, not “sticky” finish. “Everyone tries to get back to [looking like] this kind of happy and healthy girl,” he surmised.
Paris Spring 2014 Fashion Week Street Style Part 3
In Paris, fashion statements are always simple but pronounced. At the moment, we’re seeing women rocking at least one bold color in their looks. Take Fan Bingbing in pastel pink, Holli Rogers in hot red, and Ulyana Sergeenko with a pop of royal blue on her turban. The trick is styling your vivid signature with black and white. It’s an effortless way to dress without submitting to monochromatic basics. Maybe it's the answer to the Parisian je ne sais quoi!

Paris Spring 2014 Fashion Week Street Style Part 2
Everyone in Paris has been marveling at the good fortune of an Indian summer during Fashion Week, and while some took the sunny skies as a directive to dress equally as bright—such as M.I.A. in rose red prints and booties or Stephanie LaCava in emerald green Carven—others opted for a fall-like approach, regardless of the temperatures outside. Anne-Catherine Frey’s subdued take on camo was a lesson in how to restrain a showy trend, while Chiara Totire’s study in gray displayed how even the dullest of hues, when layered just right, can create a perfect autumnal palette. Another thing to note was the unique look of many of the outfits. A cream-colored coat was backed with a rooster, and Sarah Chavez's crimson floor length sailor esque coat are both something I haven't seen before. There is no doubt that today PFW is about showing off your own.
