Australia Fashion Week 2014 Street Style

Australia is one of the most unique countries in the world. And I know that it doesn't sound very fair to the other beautifully breathtaking countries you can find on the globe, but when it comes to being the only home of some of the strangest species on earth (think the platypus and wallaby) it is certainly a hard nation to compete with. However, in today's post, I'm not necessarily speaking about marsupials (even though I'd love to take you all through the 5698-plus species that inhabit the biggest island on earth, I would rather not, since I would most certainly be singing you a droning lullaby that will probably result in about 75% of whoever is reading this to click of saying "Who the heck does this person think she is? My online professor trying to put me to sleep???" Anyway, you get the message. This week happens to be the Aussie fashion week, and if you are interesting in bright rainbows of color set in the cool-beach atmosphere of Sydney, Australia then you better read on.
Longer, looser hems are in vogue, as well as any layers of lace, slouchy or straight played under light jackets that are either bedazzled or bare, with plenty of swoon-worthy embroidery and the "occasional flash of the unexpected: whether it’s a straw-speared coconut or a stretch of suntanned skin" as vogue.com so skillfully puts it. All in all, AFW Street Style is something to look at, and quite something it is.
